When you book an appointment: your preferred date, time slot, and any additional details you provide about the job.

Automatically when you visit our site: we use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised usage data including pages visited, time on site, device type, and approximate location (city level). This helps us understand how people use our site so we can improve it. You can opt out of this via the cookie banner.

How we use your data

We use your personal data to:

Provide you with a quote for our cleaning services. Contact you about your booking or enquiry. Send you booking confirmations and reminders by email. Improve our website and services based on anonymised analytics.

We will never sell your data to third parties or use it for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.

AI photo assessment

When you upload photos as part of the quote process, they are analysed by an AI service (Claude by Anthropic) to identify items, assess condition, and generate a price estimate. The AI checks for people in photos — if faces are detected, those photos are automatically deleted for your privacy.

Photos are stored securely and deleted automatically when a quote is completed, rejected, or has been inactive for more than 30 days.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate our website:

Supabase (EU region) — securely stores your quote data, customer details, and photos. Google Analytics 4 — anonymised website usage tracking (you can opt out via the cookie banner). Resend — sends transactional emails (booking confirmations, reminders). Google Calendar — manages booking appointments. Anthropic (Claude) — AI photo analysis for quote generation. Postcodes.io — validates UK postcodes (no personal data sent, only the postcode itself). Vercel — hosts our website.

Our website uses a small number of cookies:

Essential cookies: These are necessary for the website to function (e.g., remembering your cookie consent preference). They do not track you.

How long we keep your data

Quote photos are deleted automatically when a quote is completed, rejected, cancelled, or has been inactive for over 30 days. Customer records (name, email, phone, address) are retained for accounting and service purposes. Contact form messages are kept for 12 months then reviewed.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can also object to processing or request data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@carpet-monkey.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
