Spring Cleaning Checklist: Don't Forget Your Carpets

3 min read

Spring cleaning is a tradition for good reason. After months of closed windows, central heating and wet-weather mud, your home — and your carpets — deserve a thorough refresh.

Why Spring Is the Perfect Time

During winter, carpets take a real beating. Mud gets tracked in from outside, central heating dries out fibres, and with windows shut tight, moisture and odours have nowhere to go. By spring, even carpets that look relatively clean on the surface are harbouring months of built-up soil and allergens.

Spring also brings warmer temperatures and longer days, which means faster drying times after a professional clean. That's better for your carpet and means less disruption to your daily routine.

Your Spring Carpet Checklist

Start by giving every room a thorough vacuum, including under furniture and along skirting boards. Move lightweight furniture to vacuum underneath — you'll be surprised what's been hiding there.

Check for any stains or marks that appeared during winter and haven't been dealt with. Make a note of these so you can point them out to your carpet cleaner. The earlier a stain is treated professionally, the better the outcome.

Open windows where possible to air out rooms before and after cleaning. Good ventilation helps with drying and freshens the whole space.

Book Your Spring Clean

Spring is our busiest time, so we recommend booking early. A professional deep clean in March or April sets your carpets up beautifully for the rest of the year — and if you have hay fever, removing embedded pollen from your carpets can make a real difference to your symptoms.

We cover all of Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset, with free quotes and no obligation. Get in touch to book your spring clean today.
